Orediggers face skylights in VB tourney

The Frontier Conference volleyball tournament opens Thursday at the Montana Tech HPER Complex.

No. 8 Montana Western and No. 9 Dickinson State open the tournament with a play-in match.

Host Montana Tech is the No. 5 seed, and the Orediggers will take on No. 4 MSU-Northern at 2 p.m. on the Kelvin Sampson Court.

No. 1 Lewis-Clark State will play the winner of the play-in match at noon Friday.

Other first-round matches pit No. 2 Carroll College taking on No. 7 Westminster College at 5 p.m. and No. 3 Great Falls playing No. 6 Rocky Mountain College at 7.

The semifinals start at 11 a.m. Saturday. The championship match will be at 7 p.m.

The winner of the tournament gets an automatic berth in the NAIA national tournament.
