Orediggers crack Top 10 in NAIA poll

Montana Tech has a Top 10 football team.

The Orediggers moved up two spots to No. 10 in the latest NAIA Top 25 coaches poll, which was released today.

The move up comes two days after the Orediggers beat Carroll College 42-7 in Helena. That was Tech’s first win in Nelson Stadium since 2001.

That game also knocked Carroll College out of the Top 25 for the first time since 2000. The Saints had been ranked for a record-tying 187 straight polls.

Montana Western moved up one spot to No. 16 in the poll following Saturday’s thrilling 27-26 win over Rocky Mountain College.

Defending NAIA national champion Southern Oregon took over the No. 1 spot following the Raiders’ sixth straight win. Former No. 1 Lindsey Wilson fell to No. 8 after the team’s first loss of the season.
