Montana Tech’s football program has canceled all but one of its football camps scheduled for this month.
The Orediggers made the announcement on Twitter this morning, citing the health and safety of the campus, community athletes and families.
Camps called off included the 8-Man Camp, the 11-Man Camp and the Elite Camp, Tech coach Kyle Samson said. The Champ Camp for players entering kindergarten through eight grade is still set for July 23-24. (Registration form)
Matt Stepan, Montana Tech’s director of athletics, said the cancellations are not related to media reports of one Tech football player testing positive for COVID-19. Rather, the late timing of the camps, which are normally in June, and the number of players from out of state factored into the decision.
As of now, other camps put on by Montana Tech teams are still on. Click here to see our sports camps roundup.
