The selection committee for the inaugural PayneWest Montana Tech Tiposs Classic announced All-Tournament teams today, and players from Montana Tech and Montana Western took eight of the 10 slots.
The men’s team included Chris O’Neill and John Chapman of Montana Tech and Dom Robinson and Brandon Jones of Montana Western. Dickinson State’s Brian Neal was also selected.
Tech’s Sammy McGree and Monica Landdeck made the team along with Brianna King and Britt Cooper.
The Tech and Western teams all went 2-0 playing against Dickinson State and Nueta Hidatsa Sahnish College. Jennifer Burnham also earned a spot on the team.
O’Neill averaged 20 points and 3.0 assists per game leading the Diggers to the two wins. The senior guard shot 15 for 25 for the weekend.
Chapman averaged 20.5 points and 4 rebounds per game coming off the bench. Chapman was 7 for 11 from 3 point range for the tournament.
Robinson averaged 24.5 points and 5 assists per game leading. He scored 39 points in Western’s overtime victory over Dickinson State and made eight threes in the contest.
Jones averaged 19.0 points and 5.5 rebounds per game over two games. He was 16 for 29 from the field for the tournament.
Neal averaged 27.0 points per game and shot 16 for 31 from the floor for the tournament.
McGree came off the bench to average 14.5 points per game for Montana Tech. She shot 9 for 16 from the floor and was 8-for-11 from 3-point range.
Landdeck averaged 12.0 points and 3.5 rebounds per game for the Diggers.
King averaged 16.0 points and 3.0 assists in the Bulldogs two tournament wins. King shot 14 for 27 from the floor on the weekend.
Cooper average 9.5 points and 8.0 rebounds for the Bulldogs.
Burnham led Dickinson State in scoring and rebounding averaging 16.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game.
