Orediggers 12th in final poll

Montana Tech tied for No. 12 with Northwestern (Iowa) in the NAIA Football Coaches’ Postseason Top 25 Poll, which was released today.

The Orediggers, who were ranked as high as No. 7 during the season, finished the season at 8-3 after falling to eventual runner up Morningside in the first round of the playoffs.

Montana Tech shared the Frontier Conference title with Southern Oregon. The Orediggers, though, held the tiebreaker and the automatic berth in the playoffs. Southern Oregon lost in the second round of the playoffs, also at Morningside.

Southern Oregon finished No. 5 in the post-season poll. Carroll College was ranked No. 21.

Marian, which won the first national title in school history, is ranked No. 1, of course. Morningside is No. 2, followed by Missouri Valley and Saint Xaiver (Ill).
