WHITEFISH — The Frontier Conference volleyball coaches’ poll was released today, and Montana Tech was picked to finish third.
The University of Providence was picked to defend its league championship, taking home 34 points and four first-place votes.
Rocky Mountain College received three first-place votes and was picked second with 31 points. The Orediggers, the 2017 regular-season and tournament champions, came in third with 26 points. Tech did not receive a first-place vote.
Carroll College, Lewis-Clark State, MSU-Northern and Montana Western round out the poll.
Montana Tech opens the season Aug. 14 at a tournament in Fullerton, California.
Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own teams. First place was worth six points, second place worth five points, third place worth four points, fourth place worth three points, fifth place worth two points and sixth place worth one point.
