KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Orediggers are heading to the dance.
The NAIA officially announced the teams and opening-round pairings for the 2019 NAIA Volleyball National Championship in Sioux City, Iowa, and the Orediggers made the cut of one of the top 19 seeds.
That means the Orediggers do not have to play an opening-round match to qualify.
The Orediggers (25-7, 9-3) won their last five Frontier Conference matches to claim the top seed in the Frontier Conference volleyball tournament. Montana Tech won their semifinal match against Carroll College on Saturday morning before falling in the championship match to University of Providence on Saturday evening.
Providence will also be playing in Sioux City.
The 44-team event will get underway with 12 National Championship Opening Round matches at campus locations on Nov. 23.
The action inside the Tyson Events Center starts with three days of pool play from Dec. 3-5. The top two teams in each pool will advance to the elimination bracket on Dec. 6, and the national champion will be crowned Dec. 7 with first serve set for 7 p.m. CST on ESPN3.
