Noctor, Williams, Neary, Lean win Beaverhead Open

DILLON — Four Butte golfers came home with titles from Monday’s Beaverhead Open at the Beaverhead Golf Course.

Butte’s Kaven Noctor, Alexis Williams, Kelliann Neary and Kennedy Lean won their age group at the tournament, which was the sixth stop on the Southwest Montana Junior Golf Tour.

Playing in the nine-hole Phil Mickelson division for boys 12-13, Noctor shot a 44 for his third straight tournament win. He beat Hamilton’s Tanner Hansen by three shots.

Williams won for the fifth time in six tournaments, shooting a 100 to beat Helena’s Mikaela Latka by one shot in the Suzann Petterson division for girls 16-17. Williams won all five tournaments she has played in.

Neary and Lean played solo in their age groups. Neary shot a 125 in the Stacy Lewis division for girls 14-15, while Lean shot a 74 in the nine-hole Lexi Thompson division for girls 12-13.

Helena golfer Taggart Sullivan shot a 4-over-par 76 to win the Tiger Woods division for boys 16-17. Butte’s Isiah Weldon placed second at 79. Butte golfers Marcus Lynch and Houston Green followed at 80 and 82.

In the Rory McIlroy division for boys 14-15, Hamilton’s Tristan Hanson shot an 83 for his fourth straight win. Stevensville’s Zel Frost placed second at 85.

The next stop on the tour is the Aug. 5 Anaconda Challenge at the Anaconda Country Club. The season wraps up at the Aug. 10 Old Works Championship.
