No. 25 Saints take down Diggers

HELENA — The Orediggers took a game from the No. 25-ranked Saints Wednesday night. The Saints, though, took the match.

Powered by a 14-kill effort by Elli Graff, Carroll College knocked off Montana Tech 25-20, 25-23, 18-25, 25-15 Frontier Conference volleyball match at the P.E. Center.

Kathleen Mulligan added 12 kills in the win for Carroll, which improved to 3-1 in conference and 13-5 overall. Catie Hanser collected a team-leading 21 digs.

The Orediggers, who fell to 1-3 and 11-5 with their third-straight loss, got 12 kills apiece from Shersteen Cline and Sydney Norris. Korey Krumm killed 11.

Freshman dig machine Kimmy Kavran had another big night, notching 32 digs in the losing effort. Alison Lunde dished up 14 assists.

Montana Tech is back in action Thursday when they play Rocky Mountain College in a 7 p.m. match in Billings.
