Anaconda resident Nicole Hunt claimed the masters women’s title at the Montana Cup cross country race, which was held Saturday at the Sieben Ranch about 20 miles north of Helena.
Hunt, 45, finished the 8-kilometer race, which is just under 5 miles, in 32 minutes, 8 seconds to win the masters and place third overall. Hunt’s husband, Ray Hunt, 50, placed second in the men’s masters division.
The Hunts ran for the Butte teams in the meet.
Montana Western cross country coach Dylan Zitzer, who also ran for the Butte team, placed fourth overall, clocking in with a time of 28:11.
Missoula swept the team titles, while Butte placed fourth in the men’s race and fifth in the women’s.
Also running for the Butte men were Jeff Braun, Don Foley, Marvin Speece, Ozzie Rosenleaf, Justin Whaley, Robert Earhart and Michael Real.
Running along with Hunt for the Butte women’s team were Lisa Minnehan, Kelsie Zitzer, Joby Rosenleaf, Andrea Giddings, Kelsie Larson, Amber Wood-Jensen Sarah Griffin, Mallory Stefan, Rosie Real and Ida Real.
