Senior Lexie Nelson, the former Butte High Bulldog great, hit five 3-pointers and scored 19 points to pace the Eagles, who improved to 21-11 on the season. Nelson also grabbed three rebounds and dished out an assist.
Redmond scored 15 points in the win, while Hayley Hodgins scored 12. Lia Galdeira scored 31 points to pace the Cougars. Mariah Cooks added 15 points and 10 boards. Melissa Williams pulled down 11 rebounds.
The Eagles will play the winner of Thursday’s game between Pacific and Sacramento State in the second round. The date and site of that game will be announced.
