Nelson, Eagles win two

CHENEY, Wash. — Butte High graduate Lexie Nelson scored a total of 30 points over the weekend to help the Eastern Washington women’s basketball team win a pair of home Big Sky Conference games.

Nelson scored a team-leading 19 points as the Eagles snapped a three-game losing streak with a 75-72 win over North Dakota on Thursday. Nelson scored 11 points Saturday in a 63-38 win over Northern Colorado.

Nelson, the top scorer in Butte High basketball history, averages a team-leading 14.6 points per game. She’s ranked No. 3 in the Big Sky conference in scoring.

The Eagles (9-8 and 5-3) play at Portland State tonight.
