DILLON — The National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) selected Montana Western football graduating senior Phil Selin as a 2015 Strength and Conditioning Athlete of the Year, the school announced today.
NSCA member Greg Ryan, Bulldog football defensive line coach, submitted Selin’s nomination based on his work in strength and conditioning activities led by Montana Western head coach B.J. Robertson.
“We have very high expectations for our student-athletes in the weight room,” Robertson said. “Phil is Mr. Consistency, he showed up with the same intensity and is a true grinder which is the ultimate compliment I can give a guy in the weight room.”
Selin, a native of Great Falls, Mont. completed his career with the Bulldogs this fall with a selection to the Frontier Conference All-Conference team.
The NSCA recognized the achievements of athletes throughout the country for achievement in the development of improved athletic performance through strength and conditioning excellence.
NSCA members include professionals in sports science, athletics, allied health, and fitness industries to promote research in strength and conditioning and support application of findings to athletic performance enhancement training programs.
