Natelee Faupel repeats as Frontier POW

For the second straight week, Butte High graduate Natalee Faupel took home Frontier Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week Honors.

This marks the fifth time this season Faupel, a 5-foot-10 junior at MSU-Northern, has taken home the Frontier weekly award. Dexter Williams Jr. of Montana Western once again took home the men’s award.

Faupel and the 17th-ranked Skylights split two road games over the weekend, winning at Montana Western 71-61 and losing at Rocky Mountain College 62-52.

Faupel averaged 25 points, eight rebounds and 2.5 assists. She was 20 of 32 from the field, 3 of 5 in 3-point field goals and a perfect 7 of 7 from the free throw line.

Tenika Capouch of Rocky Mountain College, Morgan Grier of the University of Great Falls, Cassidy Hashley of Carroll College, Aniese Palmore of Montana Western and Megan Risinger of Lewis-Clark State were also nominated.

Williams Jr. is a 6-4 senior forward from Jacksonville, Florida. Montana Western improved to 9-5 in league play after two home wins. The Bulldogs downed MSU-Northern 76-62 and the University of Great Falls 74-62.

Williams Jr. averaged 20.5 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, one blocked shot and four steals per game. He was 11 of 18 from the field and 19 of 25 from the free throw line.

Ryan Imhoff of Carroll College, Chad Kananen of Rocky Mountain College, Trevail Lee of Montana State-Northern, John Makker of the University of Great Falls and Jacob Wiley of Lewis-Clark State were also nominated.
