WHITEFISH — MSU-Northern senior Natalee Faupel took home Frontier Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for the second consecutive week, the league announced today.
The Butte High graduate scored 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Skylights to a 66-32 win over the University of Lethbridge. Faupel, a 5-foot-10 senior guard-forward, made 7 of 8 shots from the field in the win.
Faupel made the only 3-point shot she made and was 3 for 4 from the free throw line.
Fellow Butte High graduate Hattie Thatcher of Montana Tech was also nominated for the award, as were Cassidy Hashley of Carroll College, Cierra Lamey of Montana Western, Stephanie McDonagh of the University of Great Falls and Brittany Tackett of Lewis-Clark State College.
Ryan Imhoff of Carroll College was named the Men’s Player of the Week.
The 6-6 junior guard from Napa, California, averaged 20.3 points and 8.3 rebounds per game as Carroll opened its season with two wins and one loss. The Saints beat Alberta 74-68 and University of Lethbridge 93-67, and lost an exhibition game to the University of Idaho 62-80.
Sadiq Inuwa of Montana Tech was also nominated along with Bryden Boehning of Rocky Mountain, Sigman Farmer III of the University of Great Falls and Kooper Kidgell of Montana Western.
