Ferriter, Leary receive all-conference honorable mention
Ashlinn Mullaney began her prep softball career the same way Kodie Hoagland ended hers.
With an All-State season.
The two Butte High Bulldogs took home first-team all-conference and first-team All-State honors for the 2022 campaign, Bulldog coach Ryan Stosich said. Teammates Rian Ferriter and Kamber Leary each took home an all-conference honorable mention.
Mullaney, a freshman who took over as the team’s ace in the pitcher’s circle, received the honor as utility player. She hit .342 with five home runs and five doubles. She drove in 26 runs in 22 games. She also started 17 games at pitcher, posting a 4.93 ERA.

Hoagland earned the honors as a shortstop. The slick-fielding senior hit .563 from the leadoff spot. Hoagland hit six doubles and two triples while posting a slugging percentage of .704.
The future Montana Tech golfer ended the season with a 1.336 OPS.
Ferriter, a junior, took home a mention at first base after hitting .368 with two home runs, two doubles and 16 RBIs. Leary, a sophomore, go the nod as a first basekman. She hit .343 with five doubles, a bomb and 16 RBIs.
As a team, the Bulldogs qualified for the Class AA State tournament for the first time since 2018.
