Mullaney advances to semis in early session

LOCKWOOD — Butte High senior Rylinn Mullaney has advance to the semifinals of the MHSA Girls’ State Championships today.

After a first-round bye, Mullaney pinned Kiera Davis of Corvallis in 1 minute, 38 seconds. She will take on LeeAnn Hoch of Shephard in the semifinals Saturday morning.

In other first-session action, Butte 103-pound sophomore Kaylee LaPier won a match before bowing out at 103 pounds. Freshman Aydin Gonzalez lost out at 113 pounds, and sophomore Maria Hanson went 0-2 at 126 pounds.

The second session is currently going on. Butte’s Kera Moreno, Hayla Hoffman are competing. Bulldog Ashlee Wilcox will begin competing Saturday.
