The Butte Muckers split a Southern A doubleheader with the Anaconda A’s Wednesday at Copper Mountain Park.
The A’s scored three runs in the first inning and won the opener 7-3. The Muckers battled back to win the second game 13-3. That game was stopped after six innings by the 10-run rule.
The Butte club is back in action Saturday when the Bozeman Spikes come to town for a nine-inning game at Copper Mountain. That game begins at 4 p.m.

Butte High graduate Keagan Morris worked around seven walks and pitched into the fifth inning to get the victory for the A’s.
Carsen Meyer hit a pair of singles to lead the Anaconda offense. Cody Canfield, Guy St. John, Kyler Fink, Connor Sturm, Bryant Morris and Brandon Bische each hit a single.
The Muckers, who worked 11 walks, were held to just three hits. Will Hoagland, Trey Berger and Cameron Johnson each hit a single. Austin Gerry drove in two runs.

Butte Muckers 13, Anaconda A’s 3
The Muckers built a 4-0 lead and blew the game open with a seven-run fifth inning to earn the split.
Braxton Henningsen pitched the distance for the win. He struck out five and walked three while giving up just four hits.
Ryan Schultz hit a pair of doubles, while Alex Kober doubled and drove in four runs. Justin Summers went 3 for 4, while Hoagland and Tommy Martz each hit two singles.
Noah Reynolds, Alex Kober, Gerry and Berger added base hits in the win. Hoagland, Martz,Gerry and Bryson Henningsen each scored two runs.
Canfield, Sturm, Mitch Monaco and Michael Hessler singled for the A’s.
