ANACONDA — The Butte Muckers started fast Tuesday night at Washoe Park. The Anaconda A’s finished fast as the teams split a Southern A doubleheader.
Butte jumped out to an 11-0 lead and held on for a 13-9 victory in the opener. The A’s battled back to win the nightcap 5-4. The twin bill was a makeup of a rainout.
The Muckers are back in action this weekend. They play host to the Helena Independents in a 1 p.m. doubleheader at Copper Mountain Park. On Sunday, the Belgrade Bandits come to town for a nine-inning conference game at starts at 3 p.m.
Butte Muckers 13, Anaconda A’s 9
Noah Reynolds went 4 for 4 with two RBIs to pace the Mucker offense in the opener.
The Butte boys scored three in the first, six in the second and two in the third to take command. The A’s made things interesting with a six-run fourth inning.
Trey Berger doubled and drove in three runs for the Muckers. Austin Gerry drove in two, while Bryson Henningsen and Robin Bagley drove in one.
Colton Powers and Guy St. John doubled, while Michael Hellser tallied a pair of RBIs for the A’s. Powers, Kyler Fink, Mitchel Monaco, Keagan Morris, Kassandra Flores and Carsen Meyer also notched an RBI in the losing effort.

St. John doubled and drove in two runs to back up a strong pitching performance by Morris in Game 2.
Morris scattered five hits and worked around six walks to pick up the complete-game win.
Monaco and Meyer each drove in a run in the victory.
Will Hoagland and Alex Kober doubled for the Muckers. Hoagland, Logan LaFromboise and Henningsen each drove in a run.
