MISSOULA — The Butte Muckers went on the road Wednesday and split a doubleheader with the Missoula Mavericks B team.
The Muckers won the opener 9-0 before the Mavs battled back to salvage the sweep with an 11-5 win in the night cap.
The 17-6 Muckers play their final home games of the season at 6 p.m. Friday when they welcome the Bitterroot B team for a twin bill at 3 Legends Stadium. Those games were moved up a day because of the Shrine Game cornhole tournament on Saturday.
Butte closes the season Sunday with a trip to Bitterroot.

Hunter Hotalen smacked four hits, including a double, and Ethan Cunningham spun a gem to lead the Muckers in the opener.
Kadyn Lester went 3 for 4 with two runs scored, and Rye Doherty doubled and joined Hotalen with two RBIs. Brady Shannon also singled for Butte. Jacob Nielsen scored two runs.
Cunningham struck out four and walked one over seven four-hit innings. Three of the four hits were singles.
Full names for the Mavericks are not available.
Mavericks B 11, Muckers 5 (Boxscore)
The Muckers bounced back from a 3-0 hole with three runs in the top of the second inning.
Missoula, though, took the lead for good with four runs in the bottom of the frame.
Leadoff hitter Anthony Knott had a big game at the plate in the nightcap for the Muckers. He went 2 for 3 with a triple and three RBIs. Zach Tierney, Sean Ossello and Nielsen also singled in the loss.
Lester and Doherty pitched for Butte.
