BELGRADE — The Butte Muckers won one and lost one Thursday to open the Boys of Summer “B” Tournament.
The Muckers beat Belgrade’s 14U team 6-3 before dropping an 18-2 decision to the Clark Fork Valley Riverdogs.
Butte will play the Belgrade Bandits B at 10 p.m. on Friday, and they will play Bozeman at noon on Saturday. Sunday’s play will be based on seeds.

Zach O’Connell drove in three runs, and Tyler Duffy pitched the distance as the Miners opened the tournament with a win.
O’Connell went 3 for 4 with a double to lead Butte’s seven-hit attack. Derek Dunmire poked a pair of singles, while Garrett Sharp and Mason Neegard each hit one. Sharp drove in two runs, while Neegard knocked in one.
Tocher Lee, Gavin Trudgeon and Duffy joined Sharp by working two walks.
Mason Zimmer doubled and drove in two runs to lead the Bandits.
Clark Fork Valley River Dogs 18, Butte Muckers 2 (Boxscore)
Eli Ratliff, Jack Taylor and Tanner Day each drove in three runs as the Riverdogs, an American Legion team from Plains, rolled to victory.
The game was called by the 10-run rule after five innings.
Duffey hit a double and a single while driving in both of Butte’s runs in the loss. Duffy, Jacob Tauscher and Lucas Harris-Huerta doubled for Butte. Lee hit a single.
