Muckers drop two

THREE FORKS — The Butte Muckers dropped a pair of games at the Roy McCauley Memorial Tournament Saturday.

Butte fell 11-2 to the Bitterroot Red Sox before dropping a tough 8-7 contest to Billings Post 4 Blue.

The Muckers, who are 1-3 on the tournament, will close out the tournament Sunday against the host Gallatin Valley Posse at 3:45 p.m. On Thursday, the Muckers will head to Bozeman for a tournament.

Trapper Oster, Mason Anderson and Conner Ekin doubled to lead Bitterroot’s 13-hit attack.

Jackson Jessop went 3 for 4, and Ekin drove in three runs. Jacob Westberry struck out eight Muckers over six innings to get the win. He scattered three hits.

Quinn Cox doubled for the Muckers. Sean Ossello and Mike McGivern singled.

The Muckers lost their second-one run game of the tournament in their second contest Saturday.

Rayce Fisher smacked two doubles, and Holter Reisinger drove in tow runs for Billings which was out hit 9-5 by the Muckers.

Jonas Sherman, Zach O’Connell and Jacob Tauscher each hit a double to lead the Muckers. Anthony Knott hit two singles. Jokob Nielsen, Gavin Trudgeon, Tyler Duffy and Cox each hit one. O’Connell drove in two runs.
