BELGRADE — The Butte Muckers beat up on the host team of the Boys of Summer “B” Tournament early Saturday morning.
Butte improved to 2-1 on the tournament with a 13-2 win over Belgrade B. The game, slated to start at 10 p.m., ended after midnight. (Boxscore)
The game was called by the 10-run rule after five innings.
Butte led 5-2 before blowing the game open with five runs in the fourth. The Muckers put the win to bed with three more in the fifth.
Matt Donaldson poked two hits to lead the Muckers offense. Tocher Lee, Garrett Sharp, Mayson Neegard, Tyler Duffy and Zach O’Connell also singled for Butte. Sharp and leadoff hitter Derek Dunmire each worked three woks.
O’Connell pitched the distance for the win.
The Muckers will play Bozeman at noon Saturday. Sunday’s play is based on seeds.
