BOZEMAN — It’s not how you start, but how you finish.
The Butte Muckers can certainly attest to that after splitting with the Bozeman B team Tuesday night. The Butte boys battled back from an 18-3 loss in the opener to take the nightcap 8-1.
Butte’s record stands at 13-4 after the split. The Muckers are back in action Sunday when they head to Great Falls.

Bozeman erupted for nine runs in the fourth inning to blow the opener open. The game was called after five innings by the 10-run rule.
Trey Hansen tripled and Kadyn Lester doubled to lead the Miner offense. Anthony Knott, Kevin Donaldson and Zach Tierney each hit a single.
Full names for the Bozeman players were not provided.

Rye Doherty went 4 for 5 with two doubles, two RBIs and three runs scored to lead the Muckers offense in the nightcap.
That was more than enough for Mike McGivern, who spun a gem from the bump. McGivern struck out seven, walked one and scattered five hits over six innings for the win. Hunter Hotalen go the last three outs.
The Muckers saw six of their 14 hits go for doubles. Tierney, Donaldson, Hansen and Sean Ossello each hit a two bagger for Butte.
Anthony Knott joined Ossello and Tierney with a two-hit game. Ethan Cunningham and Brady Shannon added singles.
