The Butte Mucker B team opened the season with a 9-0 win over Steele’s Warehouse Monday night at Copper Mountain Park.
The young American Legion Baseball team plays a schedule that includes teams from Butte’s Senior Little League, like Steele’s, along with Legion opponents.
The Muckers took advantage of 11 walks and several past ball in the win. The team registered 13 stolen bases, five by Kobe Moreno. Gabe Lacey stole three bases, while Coyt Stajcar stole two.
Moreno, who scored three runs, and Lacey had the only two Muckers hits in the win. Both were singles. Trevor Neumann racked up three RBIs.
Quinn Sullivan struck out 11 batters in two innings to pick up the win. He gave up two hits. Conner Miranda also pitched two innings, striking out three.
