GREAT FALLS — The Butte Muckers B team competed at a round-robin tournament over the weekend, and the Butte club posted a 2-2 record.
The Muckers knocked off a team from Billings 9-8, fell 8-0 to Whitefish, dropped a 12-2 decision to the Great Falls Chargers B team and downed a Whitefish 14U team 10-5.
Butte rallied for eight runs in the bottom of the seventh for the 9-8 win against Billings on Saturday. Quinn Sullivan and Ryan Wahl both smacked three hits for Butte. Sullivan hit a triple and a double, while Wahl, who pitched six innings, added a double. Ryan Burt pitched an inning of relief and picked up the win.
Austin Endy added a pair of hits, and Scout Allen, Burt, Brian Ogolin, Kobe Moreno and Tucker Winston each hit a single.
The Muckers were no-hit in their loss to Whitefish on Saturday. The name of the Whitefish pitcher was not provided.
Maverick Thomas drove in three runs to lead the Chargers in Sunday’s first game. Winston, Sullivan, Mayce Grant and Payton Hettick provided hits for Butte.
Aiden Lee pitched five innings to get the win in Butte’s tournament-closing win over Whitefish. Allen and Rylen Richards doubled to lead Butte’s offense. Winston and Sullivan hit singles as the Muckers did their damage on just four hits. Butte scored six runs in the top of the seventh.
