The Montana Tech Cross Country teams finished the regular season today at the Frontier Conference Championship at Bill Roberts Golf Course. The Oredigger men and women finished in third place.
Sophomore Hailey Nielson led the women’s team finishing in second. Nielson was 28 seconds off of Rocky Mountain’s Sydney Little Light who won her second individual Frontier Conference title. Nielson finished the 5k race with a time of 18:39.9.
Carroll College won the conference title scoring 37 points. Reghan Worley was the Saints top finisher in third place followed by Natlaie Yocum in fourth.
Rocky just edged Tech for second place with a score of 61. The Oredigger team score 63 points.
Sophomore transfer Edwin Kipainoi took third falling one spot since the Frontier Conference Preview Meet on the same course. Kipainoi finished with a time of 26:09.0 and was 39 seconds off the leader. Rocky’s Jackson Wilson won the individual followed by Montana Western’s Jonathan Wilson in second.
The Oredigger team scored 60 points and the Saints also took home the team title with a score of 37. The Saints had four runners in the top 10. The Bulldogs finished in second with 51.
Justin Morgan finished in fourth with a time of 26:24.2. Aiden Vlasaty took 16th place with a time of 27:19.0.
The next step is up to the raters as the Orediggers will need an at-large bid to travel to the NAIA Cross Country National Championships in Tallahassee, Florida on November 18th.
