MSU’s Semansky earns academic All-America honor

BOZEMAN (AP) — Montana State forward Rachel Semansky has been selected to the 15-member Capital One NCAA Division I Academic All-America team for the second straight year.

The senior from Highwood received third-team honors this year after being named to the second team last year.

Semansky has a 3.96 grade point average in elementary education. She is averaging 13.7 points and 7.1 rebounds per game and her 58 percent shooting accuracy leads the Big Sky Conference and is fifth in the nation.

She has 1,313 career points at MSU and more than 800 rebounds.

Semansky’s father, John, is a Butte native. Her brother, Joe, just finished his senior season as a linebacker on the Montana Tech football team.
