Moodry, Anaconda girls top BC

ANACONDA — Senior Courtney Moodry scored 23 points in her final game at the Snake Pit Saturday, and the Anaconda girls’ basketball team beat Butte Central 63-54 in the regular season finale for both teams.

Moodry, a four-year starter, ended the night with 998 career points.

Senior Taylor Flynn added 14 points as Anaconda heads to the Southwestern A Divisional tournament at 10-8 overall and 6-4 in league play.

Freshman Mollie Peoples scored 11 points to lead the Maroons, who fell to 5-13 and 3-7.

BC also got 10 from Sierra Pica, seven from Chandra McCurdy and Ryan Trudnowski, six from Emily St. John scored six and four apiece from Kate Ossello and Teresa Piazzola.

The Maroons will play host to the Southwestern A tournament starting Thursday at the Maroon Activities Center. They open the tournament at 2 p.m. Thursday against Stevensville.
