DILLON — The University of Montana Western lost to Southern Oregon University this past weekend, 76-29.

The Bulldogs hung with the Raiders for the first two quarters before the Raiders went on a 35-to-seven run in the third quarter followed by a 16-to-zero run in the fourth quarter. The Raiders decided the game on two major advantages: first, they out-passed the Bulldogs 486 yards to 201 and second, the Raiders out-rushed the Bulldogs 246 yards to 17.

Montana Western’s Dylan Kramer rushed for 33 yards off of 14 attempts with one touchdown. Bulldog receiver Matt Lickfold had four receptions for 62 yards and one touchdown while Jordan Pastras ended with three receptions, 57 yards and one touchdown. Also, quarterback Jeff Logan threw for 180 yards and three touchdowns.

Southern Oregon’s quarterback Austin Dodge had a good afternoon throwing to his receivers with 420 yards and three touchdowns The Bulldogs could not stop the Raiders’ receivers Patrick Donahue or Cole McKenzie. Donahue had 13 receptions for 222 yards while McKenzie had eight receptions for 117 yards.

Defensively, Bulldog Pat Hergesheimer ended the day with an impressive 12 total tackles while Kasey Griffith had nine total tackles and Josh Lippel, Kalani McLaughlin and Will Fields all chipped in with seven tackles apiece.

The loss moves to the Bulldogs to a 2-5 overall record. Montana Western will have to bounce back quickly as they face Rocky Mountain College this Saturday, Oct. 27, Rocky Mountain is 4-4 overall on the year. The game will start at 1 p.m. at Vigilante Field in Dillon.
