DILLON — The University of Montana Western Bulldog football squad lost to the Carroll College Saints 21-14 this past weekend.

The Bulldogs were only able to rush for 45 yards while the Saints charged through and rushed for 241. Freshman Dylan Kramer rushed for 64 yards while fellow freshman Tyrell Braun rushed for 23. Freshman Kenney Bradley threw for 145 yards, but the Bulldogs could not slow down Carroll as they passed for 215 yards. Jordan Pastras had four receptions for 90 yards while Rashad Peniston had three catches for 29 yards.

Kasey Griffith had another good defensive game with six unassisted tackles and eight assisted for a total of 14. Dakota Wainwright had 10 total tackles while Jesse McCloud added nine.

The loss moves Montana Western to an overall conference record of 2-4 while it bumped up Carroll College to an overall 5-1 record in conference. The Bulldogs will have a chance at redemption this upcoming Saturday, Oct. 20 as they play Southern Oregon University. The Bulldogs lost to SOU 21-54 previously this year. Southern Oregon has a 4-2 overall and conference record. The game will start at 1 p.m. at Vigilante Field in Dillon.
