Montana Western football adds three more

DILLON — University of Montana Western head football coach B.J. Robertson  announced today the signing of three additions to the 2014 recruiting class.

It is the second announcement the coach made today.

Robertson said he has signed Glasgow senior Tyler Wesen, Marble Falls, Texas, senior Jason Lenoir, and Twin Falls, Idaho, senior Wyatt Doyle to Frontier Conference/NAIA letters of intent.

Wesen is a 5-10, 210-pound long snapper from Glasgow High School.  He was selected as a second team all-conference performer at center and received the SNJ Scottie award.  Wesen was a four year letter winner and a team captain.  He has also lettered in track and hockey during his prep career.

“We are excited about all Tyler brings to the Bulldog football family,” Robertson said.  “Besides his ability to play and long snap, he was a captain, a three sport athlete, and a member of the National Honors Society during his time as a Scottie.”

Off the field, Wesen is a member of the National Honors Society and has earned all-state academic honors.  He has been a student council representative and is working towards graduating with honors.  He is the son of Mike and Tara Wesen.

Lenoir is a 6-foot, 190-pound defensive end from Marble Falls High School.  Following his senior season Jason earned second team all-conference honors.  He recorded 35 solo tackles, 46 total tackles, and used his 4.5 speed to sack the quarterback eight times.  He has competed on the power lifting team and has personal records of 300 pounds in the bench press and 435 in the deadlift.

Lenoir is a high-energy player who has played and had success at a very competitive level of high school football in Texas,” Robertson said.  “Jason enjoyed his visit to Montana Western and we are excited he has decided to continue his education and playing career with the Bulldogs.”

Off the field, Lenoir has earned academic all-district honors.  He plans to study biology while attending Montana Western.  He is the son of Arlene Lenoir.

Doyle is a 6-2, 310-pound offensive lineman from Twin Falls High School.  During his prep career, Wyatt was voted to the second team all-conference team as an offensive lineman three consecutive years, second team all-conference his sophomore year for his play along the defensive line, and was a first team all-conference tight end his freshman year.  Wyatt earned second-team all-conference honors on the baseball field following his sophomore and junior seasons.

“Wyatt is another second generation (Montana) Western Bulldog who will help us fortify our offensive front,” Robertson said.  “We love those big guys who are three sport athletes.”

He plans to study wildlife biology while attending Montana Western.  He is the son of Brett and Kathy Doyle.
