The Frontier Conference men’s and women’s Preseason All-Conference basketball teams were released today, and Montana Tech junior post Shay Potter was the lone Oredigger to receive recognition.

As a sophomore, the 6-foot-2 Potter led the Orediggers with 11.0 points per game. She also grabbed 7.3 rebounds per contest.

Montana Western’s Brianna King was named the Women’s Preseason Player of the Year. That comes after the 5-5 senior guard averaged 19.3 points per game as a junior.

King also averaged 2.9 assists and 2.3 steals per game in her first season at the Dillon school.

Carroll College’s Hannah Dean and Cassidy (Hashley) Kosena also made the preseason team along with Parker Esary of the University of Providence and Hailey Turner of Lewis-Clark State College.

Rocky Mountain College junior Jared Samuelson was named the Men’s Preseason Player of the Year.

As a junior, the 6-7 University of Montana transfer averaged 18.8 points and 7.5 rebounds per game.

Kooper Kidgell of Montana Western made the preseason team. The 6-5 senior averaged 12.6 points per game as a senior.

Carroll College’s Match Burnham and Matt Wyman made the team along with Race Martin and Andre McCowan of Lewis-Clark State.

Frontier Conference coaches voted for the honors. Coaches couldn’t vote for players on their own team.
