Montana Tech’s Baili Cortner named Attacker of the Week

The great start for the Montana Tech volleyball team got even better Monday when junior middle blocker Bailie Cortner was named the Frontier Conference Attacker of the Week.

The Red Lodge product pounded 45 kills as the Orediggers went 3-1 at the Biolia Summer Slam. She hit .446 with 12 blocks.

Tech swept No. 13 Davenport University, Menlo College and The Master’s College. The Orediggers loss came in five sets to No. 8 Vanguard University.

Cady Siemion of Montana Western, Kennadie Clute of Lewis-Clark State, Erin Jensen of MSU-Northern, Mariah Stiffarm of Rocky Mountain College and Madison Wilhelmm of the University of Great Falls were also nominated for the award.

Montana Tech will host the Big Sky Volleyball Challenge Thursday through Saturday. The Orediggers open play with a 3 p.m. match Thursday against Pacific Union College.

The Orediggers will play two matches Friday and Saturday.
