Montana Tech volleyball closes with pair of wins

In the final day of the Grand View Women’s Volleyball Tournament, Montana Tech earned a strong victory over No. 12 Grand View and swept Cardinal Stritch University to finish the tournament 3-1.

The Orediggers defeated host Grand View 25-15, 25-19, 23-25, 25-21. The Diggers notched 62 kills while the Vikings only tallied 49. For the match the Diggers hit for a .207 clip while the Vikings were only at a .124 rating.

The Diggers featured four players who hit for double-digit kills in Karina Mickelson (18), Maureen Jessop (14), Heather Thompson (10), and Taylor Henley (10). McKenna Kaelber led the way with 32 assists while Kamaile Moody chipped in 16. Sabrina Hopcroft led the way with 25 digs while Mickelson contributed 22.

The Orediggers return to Butte on October 18th when they host University of Providence on Kelvin Sampson Court at 7 p.m.
