Montana Tech’s men’s and women’s basketball teams picked up a pair of lopsided non-conference victories Saturday night at the HPER Complex.
Six Tech women scored in double figures in the opener as Tech took a 32-16 first-quarter lead and never looked back. Mollie Peoples came off the bench to score a game-high 19 points for the Orediggers.
Mesa Williams added 18 points, while Kaylee Zard scored 14 points and pulled down 12 rebounds. Sha Potter tossed in 12 points in the victory, Hailey Crawford scored 11, and Lana Berg netted 10.
Tech’s women also got six points from Jaime Berg, three from Dani Urick and one for Sharalei Graham-Bernisto.
Jessica Haenni scored 14 points to lead the Vikings. Tobore Okome scored 10.
Derrius Collins poured in 25 points to lead six Orediggers in double figures in the nightcap. Blake Dittman scored 17 points for Tech, which led 67-26 at halftime.
Dylan Pannabecker followed with 14 points, while Taylor England and Drew Huse each scored 11, and Carson Dummer tossed in 10.
The Orediggers also got nine points form Nate Ward, seven from William Mytty, five from Luke Peyenborg, four from Nick Fitts and two from Christian Jones.
Mason Hunter scored 10 to lead the Vikings.
The Oredigger men and women are back in action Dec. 18 for a home doubleheader against Salish Kootenai College.1 comment
