Montana sweeps to victory at Junior Ryder Cup

LETHBRIDGE, Alberta — The Montana boys and girls swept their way to victory over Alberta this week at the Montana-Alberta Junior Ryder Cup.

The tournament was played at the Picture Butte Golf  & Winter Club.

The Montana boys won 19 ½-16½, while the Treasure State girls rolled to a 27-7 victory on the two-day tournament that wrapped up Thursday.

Montana’s boys’ team included soon-to-be Butte High senior Kaven Noctor. He qualified for the tournament by winning the 16-17 age group at the State tournament earlier this summer.

Other members of the Montana boys’ team are Ryan Harvey of Missoula; Cameron Kahle of Whitefish; Jarek Shepherd of Conrad and Jordan and Justus Verge of Bozeman.

Montana girls’ team members are Carrie Carpenter of Billings; Ashtyn Swigart of Miles City; Marcella Mercer of Big Fork; Cora Rosanova of Bozeman; Haylee Adams of Laurel and Kadence Fischer of Billings.
