PHOENIX — The Montana Breakers AAU girls’ basketball team finished 3-1 at the Phoenix Adidas Gauntlet Series Basketball Tournament.
The tournament, which was held in the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, was played April 15-17.
Butte Central players Emily St. John and Mollie Peoples were members of the Montana team. The team defeated the Impact Crusaders of Phoenix 59-15, the Salt Lakers (Black) of Salt Lake City 45-37, and the El Paso Lady Hurricanes 66-31, to finish as the top seed in their pool.
The three wins advanced the Montana Breakers into the tournament’s National Division Final Eight Bracket. In the Final Eight Bracket, the Montana Breakers were defeated by the BC Denver Elite 53-34.
Other players on the team are Allix Goldhahn of Fairfield, Amber Tarabochia and Bailey O’Leary of Bozeman, Naomi Terry of Havre, Nikki Krueger of Glacier High School, and Shannon Worster of Missoula Sentinel. The team was coached by Kevin St. John and Pat Goldhan.
