HELENA — Mollee Conlan etched her name in the Butte High record book Tuesday night.
The Butte High senior tied the Bulldog record with 10 blocks in a single match to lead the way as Butte downed Helena Capital 25-17, 25-20, 23-25, 25-22.
The Western AA victory avenged a four-set loss to the Bruins last month in Butte. Conlan matched the school record set by 2020 Bulldog graduate Kira Mortensen.
Senior Kennadie McMahon also had a huge match for the Bulldogs. She led the team with 13 kills to go along with four blocks. Senior Brooke McGrath spiked 10 kills, and senior Ashely Olson added six.
Seniors Katie Keller and Olivia Quinn combined for 32 assists to run the Bulldog offense, and McGrath, Quinn and senior Jordyn Bolton led Butte High’s backcourt. Bolton and McGrath each collected 25 digs. Quinn dug up 24, while Conlan grabbed 15.
Conlan, Keller and Bolton also served two aces apiece as Butte High improved to 6-7 in the Western AA and 8-15 overall. The three-time defending Class AA state champion Bruins fell to 5-8 and 8-15.
The Bulldogs will close out the regular season at home Thursday night against Helena High.
