Mining City FC drops one, battles to tie

Butte’s Mining City FC played a pair of club soccer games Saturday at the Jeremy Bullock Memorial Soccer Complex.

The Butte squad, which is full of players 14-17, battled to a 2-all tie with Queen City FC of Helena in the morning. The local boys fell 5-2 to Stevensville in the afternoon.

The matches were the first home action of the season for Mining City FC, which now has a 3-2-1 record. Butte will play next weekend in Stevensville.

Isen Bury scored a goal for Butte in each game. Isaac Sholey an Colton Case also scored for the home team.

Other members of the Mining City FC high school team are Carson Barry, James Dare, Riley Doyle, Zane Fredlund, James Hadley, Moosie Henningsen, Lews Icopini, Thomas Icopini, Nick Lester, Anthony Liva, Jack Luoma, Cooper McKee, Joseph Phillip, Joseph Schrader, Bridger Schutte and Joseph Sholey.

The team is coached by Jacob Steilman. Shaun Villa is his assistant.
