MEDICINE HAT, Alberta — The Butte Miners split an American Legion doubleheader with the Medicine Hat Moose Monarchs Monday night.

The Miners won the opener 3-1 before the Moose Monarchs rebounded with a 4-3 win in Game 2. Medicine Hat scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning for the walk-off win.

Jared Haran scattered six hits and struck out two batters for the win in the opener. Braxton Henningsen poked a pair of hits, while Trey Hoagland, Kilian O’Leary, Zach Hart and Dyllan Layne each it one. Ryan Moodry and O’Leary each drove in a run.

Hart hit a pair of singles in the nightcap. Dylan McDonald, Moodry, Haran and Henningsen each hit one.

The Miners start a seven-game home stand to end the regular season Friday with a doubleheader against Great Falls.

Boxscores for the games were not available until Tuesday night.
