BOZEMAN — The Butte Miners won one and lost one on a high-scoring Friday night at Heroes Park.
Butte beat the Bozeman Bucks 13-10 in the opener of the non-conference doubleheader. The Bucks stormed back to take the nightcap 12-8. The Miners are back in action Tuesday when they head to Anaconda for a twin bill with the A’s.

The Miners scored eight runs in the top of the first inning.
Just when it looked like a laugher, however, the Bucks responded with eight runs in the bottom of the second. Six of those eight runs were unearned.
Evan Starr and Eric Hart each hit a pair of doubles to lead Butte’s 10-hit attack in the opener. Hart went 4 for 5, while Star went 3 for 4. Both drove in a pair of runs.
Aidan Lee, Kian O’Neill and Rye Doherty added singles for the Miners. Egan Lester and Coyt Stajcar both drew a pair of walks. Lee and Doherty each walked once.
Reece Cox pitched five innings of relief to get the win.
Dillon Fame and Zane Haarer doubled to lead Bozeman. Fame drove in three runs. Josh Woodberry went 3 for 4 with two RBIs.
Bozeman Bucks 12, Butte Miners 8 (Boxscore)
A four-run third inning put the Miners up 8-3 in Game 2.
Bozeman, though, responded with three in the bottom of the third, three in the fifth and three more in the sixth.
Fame hit a double and a single while driving in five runs from the leadoff spot to pace the Bucks. Hayden Rothie hit two singles, and Nate Pailthorpe singled and drove in two. Bryce Hampton worked four innings in relief to grab the win.
Hart and Rylan Richards each drove in three runs for the Miners. Hart went 4 for 5 again for an 8-for-10 double dip. He also doubled. Richards went 2 for 3 with a triple and three runs scored as the leadoff hitter.
O’Neill went 3 for 4 for the Miners, who outhit the Bucks 11-10. Lester and Eyston Lakkala added singles. Max Demarais and Starr each drew a pair of walks. Ethan Cunningham also walked for Butte.
