Miners open districts Thursday against Bucks

The Miners enter the tournament as the No. 3 seed after completing the conference season at 15-5. The Butte boys went 26-21 overall. Bozeman (7-13, 17-29) is the No. 6 seed.

Butte went 3-1 against the Bucks in the regular season. The Miners split a June 11 doubleheader in Bozeman. They swept the Bucks, winning 12-2 and 11-1, July 11 at 3 Legends Stadium.

Seventh-seeded Anaconda will take on No. 2 Gallatin Valley in the 5 p.m. game Thursday. The A’s and Outlaws fall on the same half of the bracket as Butte. The winner of the Butte-Bozeman game will play the Anaconda-Gallatin Valley winner at 5 p.m. Friday. The losers will head to an 11:30 a.m. loser-out game on Friday.

No. 4 Helena will battle No. 5 Dillon at 9 a.m., and No. 1 Belgrade will take on No. 8 Livingston at 11:30 a.m.

The top two teams from the double-elimination tournament will advance to the Class A State tournament next week in Havre.
