HELENA — What a way to bust out of a slump.

Nate LeProwse and Jared Haran hit RBI singles in the top of the 11th inning Tuesday night as the Butte Miners beat the Helena Senators 7-6 in a conference game at Kindrick Legion Park.

The win snapped a 10-game losing streak for the Miners. The game was scheduled for nine innings.

The two hits, which scored Marcus Madrazo and LeProwse, gave the Miners a 7-5 edge.

Helena got a run back in the bottom of the inning when Danny Burton hit a two-out RBI single. Butte relief pitcher Koby Doherty, though, got Payton Pappas to ground out to second base with the bases loaded to end the game.

Trey Hoagland pitched 10 innings, striking out six and scattering nine hits, to get the win. Doherty registered a save.

Kilian O’Leary hit a two-run home run to lead the Miners. Dylan McDonald hit a double and a single, while Hoagland, LeProwse and Moodry each hit two singles. Madrazo also singled in the 10-hit Butte attack.

Nick Wrigg, went 3 for 5 with three singles to lead the Senators. Burton hit two singles, while Kienan Stief doubled.

Riley Pickens pitched nine innings, striking out six. Kenny Wilson pitched two innings and took the loss.

The Miners, who finished a stretch of 14 games in 13 days, are off until Monday when they travel to Medicine Hat to take on the Blue Jays.
