FLORENCE — The Butte Miners dropped both ends of a non-conference American Legion doubleheader to the Bitterroot Bucs Saturday afternoon.
Bitterroot won 11-2 in the opener before completing the sweep with a 13-2 victory. Both games were called after five innings by the 10-run rule.
The Miners (2-2) will be back in action next Saturday when they hit the road to take on the Helena Senators in a non-conference twin bill.
Bitterroot Bucs 11, Butte Miners 1
Noah Baney drove in four runs for Bitterroot. he also pitched the distance, surrendering five hits in the victory.
Brad Schaff hit a home run for the Bucs.
Trey Hoagland doubled, while Nate LeProwse went 3 for 3 for the Butte club. Tristan Frey also hit a single in the loss.

Baney and Kevin McGree both drove in three runs in Game 2. Schaff and Dylan Gavlak each drove in two.
Nate LeProwse hit a two-run home run in the top of the first inning to lead the Miners, who surrendered five runs in the bottom of the first.
Kilian O’Leary doubled, while Dylan McDonald and Zach Hart each hit singles in the loss.
Bitterroot’s Bo Zelier pitched the distance for the win.
