Miners fall in Missoula

MISSOULA — The Missoula Mavericks AA team swept a non-conference doubleheader with the Butte Miners Sunday.

The Mavericks won the opener 20-4 in a game called by the 15-run rule after four innings. Missoula completed the sweep with an 8-0 victory in Game 2.

The Miners will head back to Missoula next weekend for a tournament.

Missoula 20, Butte 4
Dane Fraser and Sam Bucy tripled to lead Missoula’s 15-hit attack in the opener. Missoula also took advantage of seven walks.

Rylan Richards tripled to lead the Miners. He also walked two times.

Scout Allen and Egan Lester added singles. Lester and Ryan Wahl drove in runs. Richards and Allen each scored twice.

Missoula 8, Butte 0
Brendon Hill threw a no hitter to lead the Mavericks in the second game.

Hill struck out seven and walked two in seven innings of work.

Parker Stevens and Thomas Martin doubled to lead the Maverick offense.

Coyt Stajcar and Evan Starr drew walks for the Miners.
