KALISPELL — The Kalispell Lakers won with a blowout and a walk off Sunday in a non-conference doubleheader against the Butte Miners.

The Lakers won the opener 13-0 in five innings before Leif Ericksen hit a pinch-hit walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh inning for a 5-4 win in Game 2.

The Miners open Eastern AA play Wednesday when they travel to Helena for a nine-inning game with the Senators.

Kalispell Lakers 13, Butte Miners 0 (5 innings)
Walker Malmin went 3 for 3 with a double, triple and five RBIS, while Sam Crompton and Keatin Mohl combined to hold the Miners to just two hits in the opener.

Jayson Combs went 3 for 3 in the win, while Quinn Barber went 2 for 2 with three runs scored.

Jared Haran and Koby Doherty singled for the Miners.

The Miners took a 4-3 lead in the top of the sixth inning when Trey Hoagland singled, took third on a Zach Hart single and scored on a single by Haran with two out.

The Lakers scored two in the seventh for the win.

Logan DeCock walked and took second on a sacrifice bunt by Tyler Whiteaker. He scored the tying run when Andrew Schleusner reached on an error.

After Patrick O’Connell and Malmin drew walks, Ericksen singled in the game-winner.

The Lakers led 2-0 before Marcus Madrazo hit a three-run home run in the top of the third inning. Kalispell tied the game again in the bottom of the fifth when Whiteaker walked and scored on an error.

Haran and Dylan McDonald each poked a pair of hits for the Miners. Nate LeProwse and Ryan Moodry added one.

Malmin pitched six innings for the win.
