WHITEFISH — Jay Kotkas hit a two-run single to highlight a three-run seventh inning for Lethbridge as the Elks beat the Butte Miners 6-4 Thursday at the at Sapa/Johnsrud Tournament.

The crooked number put the Elks up 6-3. Kash Kelly drove in Quin Summers in the bottom of the seventh, but the Butte rally came up short.

Bryce Oriold-Fraser and Kotkas combined to hold the Miners to four hits, all singles.

Ryan Moodry went 2 for 4 with an RBI, while Dyllan “Kruk” Lane and Kelly each added a hit.

The Miners will take on the Glacier Twins in a game scheduled for 8 o’clock Thursday. On Friday, the Butte nine will play the Spokane Cannons at 3 p.m.

Butte will play the Spokane Expos at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Sunday’s play is determined by seeding.
