The book closed on the Butte Miners’ 2015 season Sunday with an 11-7 loss to the Bozeman Bucks at Copper Mountain Park.

The game went the scheduled nine innings.

Bailey Paddock, Bennett Hostetler, Jenner Kearns, Morgan Hostetler and Jake Murfit each drove in two runs to lead the Bucks, who will play at the Class AA State tournament in Helena. Murfit homered.

Dyland McDonald and Ryan Moodry each hit a double and two singles to lead the Miners. McDonald scored two runs, while Moodry drove in three. Marcus Madrazo, Kilian O’Leary and Nate LeProwse hit a pair of singles. Ax Henningsen, Bryce Carver and Quin Summers added a single.

LeProwse pitched into the seventh inning in the loss. Jared Haran and Zach Hart also played in the season finale for the Butte American Legion club.

The Miners, playing in the Class AA for the first time since 2011, failed to qualify for the State tournament but were competitive all season. Butte closes the season at 14-35 overall and 4-18 in conference.
