The Butte Miners left little doubt on Senior Day.
Butte got solid pitching and some big-time hitting as the Miners swept the Livingston Braves 14-0 and 10-0 in a Southern A doubleheader on Miners Field at 3 Legends Stadium. Both games were called after five innings by the 10-run rule.
The “Mine Boys” outhit Livingston 23-6 as they improved to 11-5 in league play and 22-21 overall.
Before the game, the Miners honored seniors Rylan Richards, Egan Lester, Evan Starr, Aidan Lee and Kian O’Neill. Reece Cox, the Ernie Pantusso of the Miners and Coyt ,. Stajcar are super seniors.
The Miners will play host to the Bozeman Bucks A in a conference twin bill at 1 p.m. Sunday. After playing two at Dillon on Thursday, the Butte club will close the regular season Friday at home against the Bitterroot Bucs.
The Southern A District tournament starts July 1 in Livingston. The Class A State tournament begins July 28 in Havre.

Five of Butte’s 14 hits went for extra bases in the opener.
Lee and Hunter Hotalen tripled, and Max Demarais, Lester and Lee doubled. Lee drove in three runs, and Lester went 3 for 4 with a pair of RBIs. Hotalen and Demarais also added a single. Hotalen drove in two runs and scored three times.
O’Neill, Eric “Chooch” Hart, Ethan “Easy” Cunningham, Rye Doherty and Sean Ossello singled.
Cox, Eyston Lakkala and Kian O’Neill combed for the three-hit shutout.
Jakob Cipriani, David Osen and Cody Prather singled for the Braves.

An inside-the-park home run by Hotalen highlighted the Game 2 win for the Miners.
Cunningham and Evan Starr tripled in the win. Starr also singled to join Lester with a two-hit game. O’Neill, Hart and Lee also hit in the game. Cunningham drove in three. Starr joined Hotalen with two RBIs. Cox took his 10th hit by pitch of the season.
Demarais and Mike “The Hammer” McGivern combined for the shutout. McGivern went three and a third innings, striking out seven, in relief.
Liam Edwards doubled for the Braves. Simon Coleman and Ben Nash singled.
